Sherry Pearson - President/Founder

Inspired by my 25-year-old son, Tristen, I founded Buzz Bridge Farms to address the need for services for adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). As president of the board, I am deeply committed to creating opportunities for individuals with unique abilities, ensuring they have access to meaningful programs as they transition out of school systems.

My advocacy journey includes establishing Therapy Solutions, which launched an innovative program with local universities to provide students academic credits for working directly with autism families during a time when resources were scarce. Through this program over 70 students were recruited and trained, inspiring many to focus their academic and professional careers on autism. A few years later I developed the 1 to 1 peer model social group. Again, this was out of need as there were not any resources in this area for our children yet. The Friend to Friend Social Skills Group was a natural extension of Therapy Solutions, designed to complement their ABA programs by providing a social environment where children with autism could have neurotypical peer models and develop meaningful peer relationships. By incorporating one-to-one peer models, the group offered a hands-on approach to social skills modeling and interaction, reinforcing the practical application of strategies learned through therapy in real-world interactions.

Additionally, I have served as the Vice President of the National Autism Association of North Texas since 2009, a board member for the Autism Society of Collin County, a member of the Special Education Advisory Committee for Plano ISD, and a member of the advisory committee for Collin County Life Path Systems.

In my free time I love gardening, keeping up with our fun chicken coop and continuously learning to be a better bee keeper. My husband Scott and I love the farm life experience.

As we look ahead for Buzz Bridge Farms, I am inspired to focus on developing meaningful workshops and fostering greater community inclusion for adults with autism/IDD. My mission remains centered on creating inclusive opportunities and impactful support systems that empower individuals to thrive.
